CIMB Names Wealth Management Group Head

CIMB, Malaysia's second largest bank, has appointed a new group head of private banking, WealthBriefingAsia can exclusively reveal. Robbert Jan-Voogt was previously general manager, private banking, at Emirates NBD in Dubai, where he spearheaded private banking and trust activities on a global level. Prior to this, he was head of private banking South Asia at Netherlands-based private bank MeesPierson, where he was responsible for offshore and onshore clients. He joined CIMB in early August. Carolyn Leng continues in her role as head of CIMB Private Banking, Malaysia. CIMB Private Banking was launched in 2002 and has over RM6.2 billion ($2 billion) assets under management as at 30th November 2009. It provides investment services including equities, fixed income, unit trust, trustee services, Islamic private banking services, structured products, derivatives and private equities.
